The Almanac

What every Warden should know. The numbers below are the customary defaults — a Fold's host may have tuned them.

Training and disbanding

Training costs 1 Watch per order plus Coin, and draws recruits from your Folk — one per Levy or Rider, two per Enginery crew or Ironclad. Disbanding is free and sends the Folk home. You cannot disband units that are out on a march.

Home and away

Forces are always in one of two places. At home, everything defends automatically — there is no garrison toggle to forget. On the march, committed to a raid or siege, they are gone from your defense until they return: 4 hours for a raid, 12 for a siege.

The window between "his army marched" and "his army came home" is where Folds are decided. Watch your neighbors' wars: an aggressor is also, briefly, undefended.

Upkeep

Every unit eats and draws pay daily (see Grain & Coin). An army you can't feed is a desertion schedule.
