The Fold is open
Barrenfold
Twenty Wardens. One Fold. Keep what's yours.
A slow-burning strategy game of land, grain, and grudges. Rule a Steading in a collapsed world. Check in for a few minutes, a few times a day — farm, trade, raid, whisper, swear oaths, and break them where everyone can see. When the season ends, the Reckoning settles the Roll, and the top Wardens are paid.
Actions accrue in real time whether you're online or not, and bank to a cap. Two check-ins a day loses you nothing. Camping the app gains you nothing. Time is never for sale.
Raids and sieges resolve in the open — the whole Fold sees who marched and what it cost. An aggressor's army is also, briefly, not home. Watch your neighbors' wars.
Espionage is the one deniable act: eyes, cutpurses, torches, rumors. But a probed Steading raises its guard — and a named spy is a diplomatic incident.
Covenants are sworn in public and broken in public — recorded forever. The game never forgets an oathbreaker. Betray whom you like; know the knife you hand them.
Duel
2 Wardens · 4 days
Pure strategy. Nowhere to hide.
Skirmish
3–6 Wardens · 7 days
Unstable two-against-one dynamics.
Standard
7–12 Wardens · 14 days
Real politics. Trackable enemies.
Grand Fold
13–20 Wardens · 21 days
Bloc warfare. Factions or death.
More Wardens fall to themselves than to armies. Feed your Folk, pay your soldiers, spend your Watches. Everything else is ambition.
